Who We Are
Boston Biopharma is a science-driven, patient-focused company seeking to leverage its strengths across the continuum from drug discovery to commercialization with its goal of providing better treatments for people with serious diseases.

Started in 2012 near Boston (predecessor started in 2003).

Direct or indirect presence in over 16 territories, including the US, Europe, Iraq, Oman, UAE, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.

What We Do
Boston Biopharma focuses on therapeutic areas that impact the lives of hundreds of millions worldwide, we are always seeking better ways to provide high-quality cost-effective medications to people living with serious medical conditions. It’s what drives us forward and inspires us to stay the course in challenging therapeutic areas.
Boston Biopharma has been focusing on generic pharmaceuticals since 2003, with 12 sophisticated oncology products successfully launched, with additional products in the pipeline.
We deliver our medications via two strategies:
• Providing high-quality products co-developed by Boston Biopharma and partners; and
• Providing royalty-based know-how to locally produce high-quality medications.
Our business development efforts are led by a multi-disciplinary team with significant pharmaceutical and regional expertise. We believe our current product portfolio is representative not only of our discriminating efforts but also of the types of opportunities we seek.
These efforts allow Boston Biopharma to selectively build a portfolio of differentiated, safe, and effective products for underserved patient populations.

Our leadership team possesses rich and diverse industry knowledge, a passion for science, and a shared commitment to help transform lives.
Ahmad Hashem
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Ahmad Hashem is a seasoned healthcare executive and entrepreneur with over 20 years of progressive experience. He currently leads Boston Biopharma’s worldwide activities out of the US office. He previously worked as Global Manager for Microsoft's Healthcare and Life Sciences group in Redmond, Washington, where he was leading Microsoft's worldwide strategy in this sector, working closely with companies such as Merck, Baxter, and GSK, and negotiating joint ventures such as one with Pfizer. His previous work with the World Health Organization, the United Nations Development Program, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation projects, and USAID-funded projects touched more than 60 countries in various capacities, mostly in health system strengthening. Dr. Hashem holds an MD degree from the University of Damascus and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Terry Clark
Chief Medical Officer
A board certified General Surgeon and a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Clark has over 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare fields. His executive experience included overseeing projects in Algeria, Iraq, Georgia, Egypt, Jordan, Malta, and Uruguay. Dr. Clark was appointed by former President George W. Bush to a Presidential Task Force to recommend healthcare improvements. Dr. Clark has also completed a two-year fellowship in Healthcare technology and worked for the US Public Health Service as a General Surgeon.
Edita Mistinienė
Chief Scientific Officer
Dr. E.Mistiniene is an international professional with over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and life sciences, on positions ranging from Head of R&D to Chief Scientific Officer and Director at Lithuanian, Spanish, and American companies. With a group of fellow scientists, she established biotechnology company Profarma leading in creation of new generation biologic drug and new life-saving treatments. The technology is unique by its complexity and innovative approach.
Kathy Clark
Corporate and Social Responsibility
A Doctor of Physical Therapy with 30 years’ experience, Kathryn specializes in the treatment of children with disabilities. As leader of the Boston Biopharma Corporate and Social Responsibility division, she looks at opportunities for Boston Biopharma to be an active partner in developing local communities. Kathy’s team has provided volunteer physical therapy teaching, coaching, mentoring and treatment services in countries as diverse as Algeria, Bhutan, Cambodia, Nicaragua and Rwanda, among others.
Fyras Abdlkader
Business Development Manager
Fyras Abdlkader is a business executive, marketer, and strategist with expertise in business development and startup project management. His professional experience includes more than 13 years in managerial positions leading startup businesses in the pharmaceutical industry. He holds an M.Sc. Degree in Pharmacy from Ukraine.
Kaldun Essa
Regional Manager – MENA
Kaldun Essa is a seasoned pharmaceutical executive with 19 years of experience in sales and marketing in the MENA region. His experience with global companies like Bristol Myers Squibb and Ferring Pharma included managing sales organizations that exceeded $21M in revenue. Dr. Essa has built sales and marketing teams from scratch in 4 MENA markets, and has successfully launched a portfolio of 9 oncology products in challenging MENA countries. He is currently leading a sales network in 8 MENA countries. Dr. Issa holds a B.Sc. degree in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Aleppo. He lives with his wife and 5 children in Konya, Turkey.
Asmaa Khalil
Regulatory Affairs Manager
Asmaa Khalil has over 15 years of experience in global regulatory affairs in MENA, Africa, CIS, APAC, USA, and EU, during which she has gained extensive knowledge and training in the field of pharmaceutical regulations. Throughout her career, Asmaa supported several companies in obtaining product regulatory approvals and was responsible for the medicinal product registration/renewal of most of BB’s products. An expert in the compilation, submission, and publishing of CTD, NeeS & eCTD, Asmaa was the designated speaker in more than 45 workshops of the pharmaceutical industry in Egypt, GCC, and the middle east region for regulatory affairs and CTD/eCTD sessions. Asmaa earned a B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Cairo University.
Antonella Fenech Ventura
Responsible Person – Boston Biopharma Limited (Malta)
Pharmacist by profession, Antonella has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare and pharmaceutical fields. Her professional experience includes more than 10 years in regulatory posts. Currently, she occupies the post of Responsible Person at Boston Biopharma Ltd. whereby she is responsible for implementing and maintaining a quality management system in relation to a wholesale dealer’s license required by EU Good Distribution Practice Guidelines.
Eric Egeland
Sales Representative – Alaska
Mr. Eric has over 33 years of experience in the field of medical marketing and product development, with a focus on infectious disease, respiratory medicine, and public health/vaccines. Eric was raised in the Pacific Northwest Region of the US. In the late 70’s and early 80’s he relocated to the State of Alaska. While in college, Eric got the Alaska bug while commercial fishing in Southeast Alaska. Eric also spent time working as a Purser on passenger cruise ships and working in higher education in the fields of international student affairs and admissions and financial aid. Eric lives with his wife in Anchorage, Alaska.
Shuaib Hanief
Chief Business Officer
Veteran business executive with a proven track record of building companies and creating shareholder value. Shuaib has been involved in the banking, retail and healthcare, education, and non-profit space. He worked with different-sized companies all the way from startups to Fortune 100 companies, where he built revenue generators from scratch and took products from proof of concept to the commercialization stage, in adherence to stringent regulatory certifications in different countries. This comprised direct experience with setting the foundations for satisfying capital needs, establishing vision and strategy, and setting up partnerships for accelerating market adoption while owning the P&L. His ability to navigate challenges comes from his diverse roles and his key personality trait of being a persistent learner. Shuaib Hanief has a B.Sc, M.Sc, and an MPA and lives with his wife and 4 children in Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA.
Walid Fahmi
Country Manager - Oman
Walid Fahmi is a graduate of the University of Alexandria with over 17 years of experience in the sales and marketing of medicinal products in the MENA region - including Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and other GCC countries. After earning a B.Sc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Walid started his career in sales, first as a medical representative of renowned brands (Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, and Wyeth) and later as a Senior Product Specialist and Sales Manager. He successfully launched >10 products in GCC, including medicinal products for rare diseases, neurology drugs, and vaccines. Walid also served as a member of the team responsible for the Ministry of Health Formulary Drug List in Saudi Arabia, where he contributed to the introduction of more than 5 new products in the Formulary. With a demonstrated history of exceeding sales targets, Walid is currently the Country Manager of Boston Biopharma in Oman.
Patricio Fleury
Business Development Manager, LATAM
Mr. Fleury has over 22 years of experience in business development. His broad experience spans pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food industries, in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. He has held key positions including business development, complaint management, and dispute resolution. Patricio graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), and he currently lives in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with frequent trips abroad.
